The “Three Gates” and a loving life

There are about seven things that are always on my personal development list, but the most important ones break down into multiple parts. Each gives a fragmentary view of an overall "dynamic sphere" of life.  You can't quite fill in the entire thing, but you CAN make a sort of "wire frame" of it, and create "maps of action" that increase your efficiency and effectiveness.

Of these, none is more important than the Three Gates.  On day 21 of the 90 DAY LOVE FEAST, thinking about this seems valuable.   How do the Three Gates connect to a loving life?   How does a loving life relate to Truth, Kindness, and Utility?

There are people who actually believe that the Gates DECREASE the chance of safety and effectiveness in life.  I think it is necessary to be more consciously aligned--one can be unconscious and lie and cheat your way into temporary success.

Here's an interesting observation:  ask people what is most important to them, and they will say things like love, connection, health, contribution.

But then they will mourn the fact that someone gets money, power, or sex by being dishonest.  Wait a minute: weren't other factors considered more important?   Isn't that the "fool's gold?"

I wonder if they are being honest with themselves, and if they aren't, they can't get through the First Gate.
