M.A.G.I.C. For Teens Part 2
Day #2 M.A.G.I.C.
I’m doing a core dump of the information Jason will need to integrate for his "M.A.G.I.C. for teens" class we should record this Saturday. He will need to take these thoughts and filter/embellish them for younger people, but the basic principles are the same.

If "M" is Map or Model, "A" is for ACTION. And frankly, this is the missing piece I see in people discussing "The Secret" and other such systems, the notion that if you want something enough, if you visualize and pray for it, it will come.
This, to me, is like noticing that a Rolls Royce can be steered with your pinky. There is little apparent effort. I notice this belief in the children and spouses of wealthy people: they don’t see the effort that went into building the vehicle, or earning the money to purchase it. Stuggle for 19 years to succeed, in poverty, and if you make it people will ignore all but that 20th year and claim it was handed to you. That if THEY were just lucky, they'd have what you have. And such people are attracted to the notion of "money for nothing and your cash for free."
Its an illusion. "Your ship doesn't come in. You have to row out to meet it." and "luck happens when preparation meets opportunity."
That said, it is 100% true that there are life situations that would cripple the average person: issues of race, poverty, capacity, disablement…that only the exceptional manage to rise above, and it is unwise to take the notion of personal responsibility so far you are blaming victims for their wounds.
Unfortunately, it is IMPOSSIBLE to speak frankly to people with potential capacity without potentially scraping the nerves of an already damaged and deprived individual. It was a sad revelation that when I put together the skills and strategies to COMPENSATE for poverty, racism, bullying and a broken family and succeeded…people accused me of being "lucky" in my "ivory tower."
It stupefied me…at first. Not any more.

So what IS it the M.A.G.I.C. formula asks you to do? The "atomic" minimums in each of the three major areas of your life, in a way that interlocks them.
BODY: Tai Chi and/or Five Tibetans are great. And once you lock it in, on an emergency morning you can do five reps and you are out the door in 60 seconds.
HEART: Morning Ritual and Five Minute Miracle, flooding myself with gratitude and faith, breathing and moving with power, feeling CONFIDENCE that I can and should live this day with power, joy, and service.
HEAD: Journal daily. Look at my long term plans. Do I see how today's short-term plans interlock? Yes? Then just get to it. First 60 seconds, first 10 minutes, first hour, "Done By One." A sentence a day.
All I have to do is the minimums IF THOSE MINIMUMS ARE PROPERLY CHOSEN. Choose clarity, energy, urgency. I can literally stay on track in five minutes a day, the Five Minute Miracle, if I visualize and do Chi Gong or Five Tibetans. FIVE MINUTES A DAY and I'm on track, I kid you not.
So…define the drop dead minimums and NEVER LIE ABOUT WHY YOU DIDN'T DO THEM. Look carefully at the patterns that break the patterns.
Then, define the "done by one", the basic staying speed of your life. Get the most essential and effective/efficient things done. This might involve postponing social media and opening email, people.
And then the Optimum. What you would love to make time for, physically, emotionally, mentally, business-wise.
If you can see how five minutes expands to 10-20 minutes, and that to the Diamond Hour, and that to "Done By One"…then you KNOW that if you just take care of that first five minutes, every day. (Journaling and breathing) you will slowly expand your action, do more things, have more energy…and take your life back.
Action is important. It not only creates momentum to complete projects, but "objects in motion remain in motion, objects at rest remain at rest." Also, it is echolocation. It is by looking at the way the world responds to your efforts that you learn the actual shape of the world.
And it gets you out of your @#$$ head. JESUS its sad to see smart people who live in mental constructs, ignoring the real world around them. What a waste of life.
Anyway…That's "A". Tomorrow…G.
