“Art”, Craft, and the “Three Centers”

It is our job to do the work, the "chop wood, carry water" of it all..  Craft is conscious. "Art" emerges from the deep wells of human consciousness, usually while you aren't noticing that "you" are even doing anything. A sense of total engagement that "something is happening" more than "I am doing something."

Firedance's Three Centers properly gives you a daily exercise in how to focus conscious attention in such a way as to maximize the opportunities for "art" to emerge.  The most basic principle is to focus on breathing.  When you can focus on breathing while you write, for instance, the same part of you that touch-types without conscious awareness learns to express complex concepts and structures in your work, often operating at a more accomplished level than anything you could "try" to do.  That would be anchoring to the First Center: survival, instinct, grounding, "up-down", breathing, Truth.

The very essence of the "complex equivalent" concept: having a simple symbol that represents or connects a variety of otherwise complicated notions.

Tomorrow on FIREDANCE: The Next Level, we'll dive back into the centers, as they help us understand what a human being is…and without that, you cannot understand the nature of the Hero.
